Yesterday Wiggins Class and some of our Year 6 children participated in an Olympic afternoon. The children tried lots of new activities with great support and encouragement from each other. The children from Year 6 had done an incredible job of organising the afternoon and we were thrilled to be invited to join them. After a gruelling warm up session, we set off to play tag rugby, mini archery, football, bottle tossing and welly throwing to name but a few! We all had a brilliant afternoon, helped by the sun shining after a soggy start to the day.
Today the Year 6 children at school visited Wiggins Class to plan our Olympics competition ready for Thursday. We had to think of sporting activities to take part in and the children came up with ideas ranging from welly throwing to tag rugby, high jumping to boccia. We can’t wait for Thursday to come, so fingers crossed for a dry afternoon!
The Year 6 children are in charge of the planning and preparation of all the games and races and we are going to supply the delicious refreshments to help get us through all the exercise we will do! Watch this space for more news!
